Stephanie is a Salvadoran-American design student from Charlotte, North Carolina. From a young age, she was recognized as a creative individual in her family and placed her creativity in her love for fashion design. She believes clothing is a definitive factor of identity and attempts to tell a story through her garments.
Inspired by Frida Kahlo
In blending her love for art, design, and her Latin-American culture, Stephanie was inspired by Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. Each design represents a different painting, including The Two Fridas, Self Portrait 1948, and Love Embrace of the Universe. Through her collection, she wanted to represent the beauty and pain of art and Latin-American womanhood, as depicted through Frida Kahlo's paintings and life.
